Free RAW Photo Converter in Bulk Online

Photographers live in RAW because that's where their whole editing workflow sits. But try dropping a plain JPG or PNG into a RAW-only workflow and most software just will not cooperate.

That's why we built our JPG to RAW converter. Drop your JPG or PNG files in and batch convert them to RAW online without installing anything or waiting on a queue.

CR2, NEF, and ARW outputs all run through the same browser tab, and none of it ever touches our servers.

Why Batch Convert JPG or PNG Photos to RAW Online

A JPG or PNG is the finished version of a photo: light, compressed, and ready to share. Great for posting. Not so great when your editing software, a RAW-only preset, or a client's delivery spec asks for RAW files and nothing else.

We built a free RAW image converter to bridge that gap. Feed it your JPGs and PNGs and you get back RAW files that sit right alongside your camera shots. Canon, Nikon, Sony, doesn't matter. Shot some of it on an iPhone? Convert those photos to HEIC with our batch HEIC converter, or bring JPG and PNG files here for RAW.

Your library ends up in one format, and you stop running two separate workflows for the same shoot.

How to Convert JPG to RAW Free, Fast, and In Bulk

It's genuinely three steps. Upload your JPG or PNG files. Pick a RAW output: CR2, NEF, or ARW. Let the browser churn through the conversion. No plugin, no login screen asking for your email first.

Once it's done, grab everything in one download instead of clicking through file by file. We have had people run fifty images through it and people run five. The process doesn't change either way, and it stays free regardless of batch size.

EXIF metadata usually carries over too, as long as your original file had it in the first place.

Pair Your RAW Conversion With These Batch Converters

Converting to RAW is rarely the only step. Say you also need lighter web copies. Our batch WEBP converter turns images into WEBP in bulk, the same way this tool turns them into RAW.

Old scans are another common one. If you need TIFF output for print or archive work, the batch TIFF converter converts images to TIFF in one batch, no extra software needed.

Tips for Cleaner RAW Exports From JPG and PNG Files

Most people grab whatever JPG is sitting on their drive without thinking about it, and honestly for quick tests that's fine. But if a PNG version exists, use that. It hasn't been squeezed by compression, so there's less lost going in. Just know RAW doesn't do transparency, so any see-through areas in a PNG won't carry over.

If your folder is a mixed bag of BMPs, GIFs and other leftovers, the batch PNG converter converts them to lossless PNG in bulk, then you can bring those PNGs here for RAW.

One thing worth knowing ahead of time: converting to RAW won't bring back highlight or shadow detail the JPG already threw away. Don't panic, the file still edits fine. Start from the best-quality source you've got, and expect the output to be bigger than what you put in.

If you have a few hundred JPGs or PNGs to convert, resist the urge to dump them all in at once. We'd stick to smaller chunks, somewhere around 20 to 50 at a time.

It's not just about the browser handling less, since RAW outputs are heavier than the originals. It's also a lot easier to notice when one file didn't convert right if you're not digging through a wall of thumbnails to find it.

Got a folder of JPGs or PNGs that need to go RAW? Select them, choose your RAW format, and let it run. No install, no account, nothing standing between you and the export.

Give our JPG to RAW converter a shot next time you need those images to fit straight into your RAW workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I convert JPG to RAW online for free?

Yes, and there's no sign-up wall or hidden cap waiting for you halfway through.

Does batch converting JPG or PNG to RAW improve image quality?

No, and no converter honestly can. The RAW file keeps the same detail as your original. It just opens and behaves like a RAW file in your workflow.

Are my JPG and PNG files uploaded to a server anywhere?

No. It all runs locally in your browser. Your files don't go anywhere near our servers.

Should I use JPG or PNG files as the source for RAW?

PNG if you have it, since it hasn't lost anything to compression. JPG if that's all you've got, or if you're converting a big batch for quick use.

How many JPG or PNG files can I convert in one batch?

As many as your browser can chew through at once. For big folders, twenty to fifty files per batch tends to run smoothest.

Which RAW formats can I convert JPG and PNG files to?

You can export to CR2, NEF, and ARW, the RAW formats used by Canon, Nikon, and Sony cameras. That way your converted images line up neatly with your camera files.
